If you don’t see your university name on the list you should check with your university’s International Student Services office or contact us at info[at]germanuniversities.org for university specific exchange programs.

Mobility
Every year, thousands of international students come to study at Freie Universität Berlin for a period of time in the context of an international study program. Exchange students can come to Freie Universität Berlin in the framework of different exchange programs.
Many European students spend one or two semesters at Freie Universität within the framework of the Erasmus program.
Direct exchange students come from one of our partner universities to spend one or two semesters at Freie Universität. They must be nominated by one of our partner universities. It is not possible to apply directly to Freie Universität for placement in a direct exchange.
For our direct exchange scholarship holders, more detailed information is available that cannot be found on the general web pages. After your nomination, you can procure this information directly from the International Students Office of Freie Universität Berlin.
After nomination through an exchange program, foreign students will receive information from the International Student Office regarding the Distributed Campus Portal, a multi-media online portal which is a source of much additional information regarding the German university system, student life in Berlin, and an online German course offering topical information.

It is a good idea to contact the International Student Mobility Office - Welcome Services at Freie Universität Berlin
If after the end of your program stay, you would like to continue studying at FUB as a regular student, you must fulfill other requirements than for participation in your program: For admission to your degree program, you need to apply via uni-assist, keeping to the deadline.
For recognition of your previous studies, please contact the responsible exam office of your department. In case your previous studies have been recognized as equivalent to one or more semesters, you may apply not only for the first but also for higher semesters.
