Originally the political motor and economic anchor of the European Union, Germany’s role and status within Europe is changing. Domestically, Germany is facing political and economic shifts. New EU-members are challenging the old power structures and Great Britain and France are positioning themselves in more influential roles. These developments also have an effect on Europe's transatlantic relations. The panelists talked about the reasons and consequences of the shifting relations within Europe and their influence on the transatlantic partnership.
